Death’s call and the cry of everyday
The news of death, who
can tell, yet one more has left the earth. A journey that starts with a cry,
ends without saying goodbye. As the
breath leaves the nostrils of one, so do same breath enter another. One
bringing life the other, the absence of life.
We all rejoice in
celebration as one is born and rent our garments in grief when another is gone.
When shall this endless cycle cease , when shall the sons of men be liberated
from this timeless but time ruled wheel.
A man once said,
“cursed be the day I was born…let that day be darkness…let the lord not regard
it”. This was a man that longed for death and it did not come. A man that was
tired of life. But yet another man also said, “A living dog is better than a
dead lion”, this was another that enjoyed life and saw the advantage of living
over dying.
There is hope for the
living, even if all is lost, even if your health has been ravaged by disease,
even if your life work has been destroyed, even if you lost your job, even if
you are broke, even if you are at the brink of bankruptcy, even if you are on
your dying bed. As long as the breath of life still resides in your nostrils,
there is hope for you. Don’t give up, as long as you have life you can still
rise.
I say to those
celebrating the arrival of a child, celebrate more. And to those mourning the death
of a loved one , weep more, but don’t weep for the dead, weep for yourselves. Weep
for your mistakes, weep for the wrong turns you
took in life, weep for all the time you misused…weep for your life. Weeping is
good. For it is only the living that can weep.
Everybody must die at some point in this time
ruled sphere (I speak as a man) but truly , man cannot die ,the real man I mean
and not everyone will see death (I speak as a philosopher).what really matters
is the life you live. How relevant are you to this time ruled sphere. Of what
value are you to the man next door. Are you just here to balance the ecosystem, to eat
cattle and squash ants so that they don’t overpopulate the earth ? What is the benefit of your coming to the
people of planet earth? Why are you here?
We all
want to live but how many of us are truly alive. Most people are actually dead.
walking dead to put it rightly, zombies in pants and skirts. No need for death
to take you, just wait time for the expiration of your time here on earth, then
you are gone. Gone like the wind. Nothing to be remembered for. You are only alive when others feel your
impact. Don’t wait till you are dead, live now.
A man once said, “let us eat and drink for
tomorrow we die”. But I say “let us leave each day as though it’s the last”
