Once upon a Dream
Some
philosophers have concluded that what we think of as "the real world"
could be or is an illusion. This idea was known as "the skeptical hypothesis
about ontology".
One begins to wonder if there is truth in that, sometimes you sleep and in your "dreams" you're a KING driving expensive automobiles or mounting the purest breeds of horses. Sometimes you are a wealthy Monarch and in your "dreams" you're a beggar and your neighbourhood plumber is a wealthy merchant seeking your daughters (who in alternate world seemingly is a princess) hand in marriage.
However when I refer to dreams I do not mean those of succession of images, ideas, emotions and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. I speak of those aspirations we have nurtured and fought for in our most awakened states.

In
different stages of our lives we've had these "dreams" both good and
bad, conspicuous and perverting, realistic and unrealistic, natural and
unnatural. (1) first question is, by what standard/rationale can you judge the
realism or feasibility of a dream? (2) In relationship to question 1 and your
answer, how do you judge the philosopher’s conclusions in the first paragraph?
When I was much younger, I dreamed of being a musician, a dream that went on for half a decade or more, not until I dreamt of becoming a lawyer. Looking back I fail to find the similarity of both or how the constellations on my birthday align to such an outcome. Still another decade later, I find myself in an occupation I hardly dreamt of…serving my country, even as a young philosopher, perhaps the youngest of the bunch . I fail to understand why that was never a dream but has proven to be in all ramifications at least at present a reality.

Or
is there another me in a parallel world living out my dreams while I live out
his? Well, this I will discuss in another topic. However I wish to state that
the purpose of this piece isn't to give you dreams or even achieve them for
you. But to point a torch or serve as a beacon so when you come to the
crossroads in your life you can see what's ahead of you and choose wisely, to
guide you through your chosen path and not to choose for you.
Unfortunately
you may find yourself in places where rather than intellectual hurdles coming
between you and your dream you find physical hurdles threatening the
actualization of your dreams. It is at such points of weakness you turn to
others for strength. Not every intellect is a "professor" or
"geek"/ "guru" or commander. Seek for strength where needed
and patch up your weaknesses.
Dreams do come true, not just any dream though. So please, be guided.
