THE 12…3…6… PHENOMENUM

There are certain periods of the day that is of great significance in the earth realm. These periods or watches or spans of time play a vital role in the lives of earthmen and the environment he lives, his actions and inactions, his deeds and misdeeds.

These watches have been overlooked by many, due to mainly ignorance of the understanding of these watches or spans of time. All spans of time is important and of great significance to man. Man was made in time, but his existence is beyond time, in fact timeless, but his day to day activities in this time ruled sphere is influenced by time a great deal. By time here, within the context of this article, I mean spans of moment, periods, to be more precise, hours.

 With the foundation above I would like to introduce what I call the 12…3..6…phenomenon.  These are unique periods of 12am, 3am and 6am of our 24hr time spectra. The significance of these times is of the night or rightly put, day cannot be overemphasized. Every true spiritual pilgrim must be aware of this phenomenon which many have used  to greatly influence things on this time ruled sphere.

The cock crows at 12am, 3am and 6am. Have you ever wondered why this unintelligible creature cries at these times. What do they cry about? What do they announce? What is the significance of these times? To understand this fully we shall place each of these periods under our philosophical radar for deep analysis, but unfortunately, this medium is not suffice enough to highlight all the theories, facts, truths and laws associated with these periods, but I shall be as concise as possible to allow enough information.

12AM/MIDNIGHT

Midnight is the transition time period from one day to the next: the moment when the date changes. It is that time when the sun is closest to nadir and the night is equidistant from dusk and dawn.

Why is midnight so important?

      I.            IT BEGINS AND ENDS A DAY:

Midnight marks the beginning and ending of each day in civil time and is the dividing point between one day and another. The12am or midnight watch is very vital. It ushers in the new day, in fact it plays a vital role in what the day could turn out to be. You could settle all your issues of the day at this hour and live without stress throughout the remainder part of the day.

   II.            IT MARKS A PERIOD OF HEAVY SPIRITUAL ACTIVITY:

The Lord went into Egypt to execute judgment on Egypt at midnight (Exod 11:4)  . Also Samson rose from his dwelling at exactly midnight and took the city gates, carrying it up to the top of a hill (judges 16:3). Why didn’t he do that at the first(1am) or second(2am) watch?

You could experience a strong move of the Spirit at midnight. answers and counsel on what to do too, can come at this hour like was experienced by ruth who lay at the feet of boaz and boaz woke up at exactly midnight to find her asleep on his feet, then he gave her counsel on what to do. Why didn’t he wake by 10pm or 4am?

It is also recorded in the new testament that paul and silas prayed and sang praises unto God at midnight, then they experienced a great miracle(acts 16:25). Again why didn’t they pray and praise during the day or at other periods of the night. They must have prayed during the day but what made the difference was their spiritual activity at midnight

Midnight is the hour of spirits. Spirits move at midnight and seek to express themselves outside their abode at this hour. Most spiritual activities are consummated or initiated at midnight. This is the reason why  the spiritual pilgrim ought to take advantage of this hour as often as he is privileged, like silas and paul it is an ideal time to pray and praise. Even king David took advantage of this hour, in psalm  119:62 he states , “At midnight I will rise and give thanks unto thee…”

3AM/COCKCROW

3am or the cockcrow watch is very unique hour of the night. It marks the breaking of the day and end of most spiritual activities initiated at midnight. The habit of the cock in the East of crowing during the night at regular times gave rise to the expression "cockcrowing" to indicate a definite portion of time (Mark 13:35). The Romans called this the last watch of the night.

          Jesus made reference to this watch when he prophesied his denial by peter before the 3 watch. peter denied Jesus before the cock crowed , not after the cock crowed. In his words , “Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cockcrow,thou shalt deny me thrice(Mat_26:34) 

          What did Jesus perceive in the realm of the spirit that made him proclaim such. Why didn’t peter deny jesus after the cock crow(3am) .what caused him to deny jesus before that hour? What is peculiar about the period before the cock crow(3am)?

          The third watch thus marks a close of the “time of spirits” initiated during the first watch(midnight)

6AM/MORNING

The cock crows once more at 6am, and ushers in the time of man. This is the time man, begins his conscious activities. The period he awakens from slumber and begins his days walk. The cock announces the revival of his consciousness and the bursting out of the sun. In general terms, it announces the morning.

THE  PHENOMENUM 

The period between 12 midnight and 3am and 6am is very distinct period. Jesus understood the uniqueness of this time span when he declared, “ Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:”(mark 13;35)

     Between 12am and 3am, demonic spirits leave their host or abode to operate, it is also known to be a period when witches cast their spell. The reason being that most demonic spirits may not be available at certain times but between the period of midnight and 3am, the spirits are always readily available, it is said that there is no demon possession at this period, as all the demonic spirits must leave their host at exactly midnight and return at exactly 3am, all mad persons are said to be normal during this period .this further explains why peter was tempted to the point of denying his master at this particular period, the satanic influence was at its peak at that hour,thus trying him till the point where he gave in, and this occurred before the cock crow, that is the 3am watch.

                   At 3am, the spirits must return then at 6am man is said to rise from his slumber.

                   In conclusion, the period of midnight to 3am to the spiritual pilgrim is a great opportunity to experience the move of Gods spirit, receive answers or counsel, pray and praise and engage in spiritual activities.
